Event Calendars
Semesterly calendars that detail the events held at the Rick and Susan Sontag Center for Creativity (the Hive). I formatted the page and text layout based on branding guides from the Hive. Over 500 are handed out at beginning of semester orientation events, club fairs, and in classes to advertise co-curricular offerings to students and community members of the Claremont Colleges.
Promotional Flyers
A set of over 50 promotional flyers for workshops and events held at the Rick and Susan Sontag Center for Creativity. Each flyer is designed to reflect the type of activity done at the event or introduce guest workshop leaders and speakers. These flyers were used to advertise on multiple platforms including on the Hive website, Eventbrite, Instagram, and physically on the Claremont Colleges campuses with a different format to fit each platform.
The Hive Print Lab Curriculum Redesign
The Print Lab at the Hive is a maker space that offers screen printing as co-curricular programming to students and community members. This space is a learning space for beginners and a maker space that encourages student use for personal projects. I led a team of student proctors to reimagine how we teach screen printing at the Hive after the return from quaratine.
Wing-Yee Screams Style Guide
This is the style guide I created for myself for my business, Wing-Yee Screams. I use these guidelines for creating digital and print assets such as price sheets, signage at vending events, shirt tags, and thank you cards for orders. Wing-Yee Screams is represented by bright primary colors and simple shapes to evoke a sense of play. It is accompanied by a hand drawn logo of a tiger to indicate that my products are hand made and to introduce a personal aspect to my branding.
Handmade Plush
I have always had a love for stuffed animals and a tendancy for starting collections. My desire to have specific stuffed animals that didn't exist inspired me to create my own collection of handmade plush. Like with most of my work, I am drawn to character creation and creating plush toys has allowed me to translate the characters I make into 3D space. I create the patterns for these plush and, depending on complexity, machine or hand sew each plush.
Hand Printed Goods
A collection of block printed or screen printed paper goods and apparel that I hand printed. These prints incorporate my illustration practice into physical making.
Illustration
My digital illustration practice seeks to create joyful and fun characters and creatures for storytelling.
Modular Museum Stand - Exploration
One challenge with travelling exhibits is that the space the exhibit will inhabit changes with each location both in shape and size. This design aims to provide a simple modular solution that allows the exhibit to be adapted to whatever new space it is in. The overall exhibit can expand or reduce in size, as well as change the shape of the stands using angled pieces.
